Paramus has some of the busiest retail roads in America: the Route 4 and 17 jughandles. We teach them step by step, including the quiet Sundays that are perfect for nervous beginners.
Paramus is the retail capital of New Jersey, which means its drivers have to handle the Route 4 and Route 17 interchange, endless jughandles, and mall traffic at Garden State Plaza and Paramus Park. It is intimidating, so we break it into manageable lessons rather than throwing students into the deep end.
A local trick we use: thanks to the town's blue laws, the big retail roads are quiet on Sundays, an ideal time for a nervous first-timer to practice the jughandles with light traffic. Pickup at Paramus High School or home.
Pickup at Paramus High or home for the Spartans, scheduled around the school day. We also work with families across the Paramus Catholic and Bergen Community College communities.
The Route 4 and 17 interchange and its jughandles are the defining challenge here, plus the mall-traffic corridors around Garden State Plaza and Paramus Park.
We use Paramus's Sunday blue-law calm to practice the big roads safely, and rehearse the Lodi MVC route before the exam.
We also serve nearby Hackensack and Lodi.
Step by step. We start on quieter roads, then build up to the Route 4 and 17 jughandles, often on Sundays when blue laws keep the retail traffic light.
At the Lodi MVC, a short drive away. We practice the route and parallel parking beforehand.
Spots fill fast around birthdays and school breaks.
